The Contichrom CUBE bench FPLC tool – features and applications for large and small molecule process development

Webinar Details

The Contichrom systems are multi-purpose bench-top chromatography systems for proteins, oligos and peptides. Contichrom systems allow exploring the world of continuous chromatography processes offering process capabilities for capture (CaptureSMB), polishing (MCSGP) and side compound enrichment (N-Rich). A key feature is the ability of this instrument to support existing batch processes while exploring continuous chromatographic processes. The operating software ChromIQ facilitates transition from single column chromatography to continuous chromatography in a few minutes. This presentation shows case studies of process design and operation using the Contichrom system.

This is a 30 minute walk-through of this very flexible lab discovery tool.

NOTE: this is one in a series of ~15 webinars on twin-column “continuous” chromatography technology by YMC/ChromaCon. View all on search term “YMC”.

SpeakerThomas Müller-Späth, Ph.D
Thomas Müller-Späth, Ph.D, holds the position CTO at YMC ChromaCon AG, Switzerland. Thomas is inventor of 10+ patents and has authored and co-authored 30+ scientific articles and book chapters on continuous chromatography for biopharmaceuticals and downstream processing. Thomas frequently presents at international conferences as speaker and also co-chairs workshops on continuous chromatography. Thomas studied chemical engineering at the Technical University of Hamburg, Germany, and at the University of California, Berkeley. Thomas gained further R&D experience at Bayer Healthcare in Berkeley, CA, and Beiersdorf , in Hamburg Germany. He obtained his PhD in 2008 in the area of the multi-column-technology for the purification of proteins at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) in the group of Prof. Morbidelli, where until recently he is also active as a Scientific Advisor.
ModeratorGerard Gach
Gerard Gach has over 30 years in industry and is presently the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of YMC's bio/pharma systems’ business. His present role is identifying new growth segments within the life science space, providing strategic direction and aligning industry collaborators and developing product value insights. Previously Gerard spent 12+ years with General Electric as Global New Products and Strategy Manager. Previously he was with Pall (Danaher), Koch Membrane and Osmonics (now Suez) in varying leadership capacities.
